By default, rm does not remove directories. Use the --recursive (-r or -R) option to remove each listed directory, too, along with all of its contents.
To remove a file whose name starts with a '-', for example '-foo', use one of these commands: %s -- -foo
%s ./-foo
Note that if you use rm to remove a file, it might be possible to recover some of its contents, given sufficient expertise and/or time. For greater assurance that the contents are truly unrecoverable, consider using shred. https://www.gnu.org/software/coreutils/Report %s translation bugs to <https://translationproject.org/team/> Full documentation at: <%s%s> or available locally via: info '(coreutils) %s%s' you may not abbreviate the --no-preserve-root optionunrecognized --preserve-root argument: %sTry '%s ./%s' to remove the file %s. failed to get attributes of %s%s: remove %lu arguments recursively? %s: remove %lu argument recursively? mainremoved directory %s removed %s cannot remove %s%s: remove %s %s? fts_read failed..traversal failed: %sbug-coreutils@gnu.org../src/remove.cVALID_STATUS (s)fts_close failed%s: descend into write-protected directory %s? %s: descend into directory %s? %s: remove write-protected %s %s? it is dangerous to operate recursively on %sit is dangerous to operate recursively on %s (same as %s)failed to stat %s: skipping %sWARNING: Circular directory structure.
